PARDON OUR DISTRICT’S CONSTRUCTION – WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS!

I love my community and am proud of all we have accomplished together during my first two terms. I have secured record investment for our streets, alleys, sidewalks, biking and walking trails, I kept my promise to rebuild this district from the ground up. As Chair of the Public Works Committee, I will continue to advocate for improving our neighborhoods.

I asked voters to remember two things: First, that I am relentless, and second, that I will get results! I promised that I would work tirelessly for them and their families, and that I would not give up. And I kept my promise, because our district is now fully under construction!

And I didn’t come up with these priorities on my own, rather, they were the culmination of what has been a continuous canvassing of our district. I have talked to thousands of our neighbors at their doors year-round to see exactly what they want their priorities are and I took those back to the council.

I have lived in the district for 32 years, and have been married for 35 years, and am the mother of two adult children and we have a beautiful granddaughter. Following my most recent election, I chose to leave my employment to devote my time completely to serving the district.

The Issues

The Way The District Was

I went door to door in 2018 and 2019 and asked voters how they felt things were. Their priorities were very clear – more money was needed for infrastructure, flood control, and economic development. Many neighbors felt that their neighborhoods had been ignored and underserved for years on end. And others asked for equitable solutions for decaying neighborhoods and for better jobs for our community. That was the state of our district.
